Though hardly perceptible, sunlight still managed to glisten off the pearl-white threads that had been spun from one side of the trail to the other. A trap had been set for a mysterious creature that was rumored to lurk around Route 116. Reportedly, it was one scarcely seen before: one that people thought didn't exist.

Hiding amongst the pine leaves of a tree that overlooked her trap, Otafuku the Leavanny waited patiently to see which pokemon would step into it first. She knew her master was nearby, quietly observing the situation from his own vantage point. She was determined to make her proud after a recent (and embarrassing) blunder during her training.

While Otafuku waits in the tree above, she has the misfortune of drawing the attention of a Toucannon. The bird spots her bright pink hue as it soars past, then makes a u-turn when it decides to make her its prey.

It's FURY ATTACK, however, is quickly countered with an ELECTRO WEB before it can even land. The Toucannon squawks as the electrified webbing entangles it, sending it plummeting towards the wilds below. Neither Otafuku nor Remiel care to check on it afterwards. It either becomes prey for some other pokemon or limps away.

Though initially sparked into violence by the appearance of a Toucannon, the Pidgeot quickly redirects its aggression towards the cherry blossom Leavanny that had defeated it. This one knows better than to dive in for close-combat, however. Instead, it unleashes a TWISTER from afar to keep its distance.

Otafuku is forced to nimbly leap towards another tree to save herself, keeping a CALM MIND as she assesses her next move without Remiel's guidance. As the Pidgeot mirrors her move (MIRROR MOVE), however, she instead decides to dive beneath the canopy of leaves and obscure her position from it. It is forced to dive down as well to attack her, but is instead met with a debilitating ELECTRO WEB. The trap card had been sprung.

That had been a close call. Standing atop a thick branch, and surrounded by leaves at all sides, Otafuku took a moment to catch her breath before her master's whistle sharply cut in. With no hesitation, she rushed to regroup with him, darting amidst the trees with ease as she followed it back onto the trail.

It appeared something had been caught in her trap after all: a Kecleon. Remiel stood before the struggling chameleon now, calmly unclipping an empty luxury ball from his belt. Motioning to his Leavanny when he spotted her out of the corner of his eye, he prompted a quick electrification of the web that rendered the Kecleon unconscious. 

Then, with a toss, he proceeded to capture it.
